Learned about the Nintendo Wii U yesterday. Looks pretty neat.
I really appreciated that Nintendo is continually trying to reinvent the way games are played and doing so by honoring the traditions of established brands. They might modernize them a tad, such as the new acorn in the next Mario game, but it’s mostly a new take on familiar faces and familiar dilemmas.
This is also a clever play on Apple’s take in games. The Wii remote has a bigger screen than our iphones and it also hooks up to the TV. This is basically where I expect Apple to start heading but they’re not ready yet. So perhaps Nintendo can get in there first..?
