Motivation
I spend most of my time building server’s and only occasionally do I hack on frontend stuff. Yet, I find interface design so interesting.
To satisfy some of my design curiosities I’ve been teaching myself Javascript and building a music player to reinforce my knowledge. I’m using jplayer for media handling and fetch the playlist from this tumblr’s coding soundtrack.
General Design
As I mentioned, it builds a playlist from this tumblr’s music posts. It then extracts the artist and album info and queries last.fm’s API for album artwork.
It’s my first substantial javascript project so I make no guarantees the code is quality yet. I’m planning to put it on my GitHub page once I’ve smoothed some things out.
