I wish the Tumblr input box was this big by default. The current default is tiny. I feel like I’m squinting.

I love change, but the change has to be better. I dislike regression. I think most people generally do too.
This new look feels like it lost a lot of detail, which makes me feel like the site lost a little bit of it’s personality. I think I’d prefer to see icons that get close to the quality of an iPhone app. Consider how great the instagram icon is. Something like that could be great for the Photo icon. Maybe a really well designed graphic of headphones for the Audio.

I wonder if people would use themes for Tumblr’s dashboard? The configurable elements could be basic, for now, like theming a twitter page, where Tumblr controls some portion of the design to ensure users never have an unreadable dashboard.
In addition to that, I’d like to it to be possible to view Tumblr as a stream of photos, a stream of quotes, a stream of links, etc. These topics all deserve special attention, yet I get them in a single list. Let me see everyone’s photos for the day. Or get a concise list of all music my friends have shared recently. I think having tags on top of a mechanism like this would be great.
